CFF #4 Finish

Polished finishes are produced by mechanically abrading the surface with a series of progressively finer abrasive belts.

CFF’s #4 polish is considered to be our general purpose finish, characterized with traditional longitudinal striation polishing lines.  The grains are moderate in length and depth resulting in a more reflective finish.  Typically, Ra measurements run in the range of 20 – 25 micro inches.

This finish is highly versatile typically used in applications such as architectural wall panels, beverage equipment, dairy equipment, kitchen equipment just to name a few.

CFF 180 Grit Finish

Polished finishes are produced by mechanically abrading the surface with a series of progressively finer abrasive belts.

CFF’s 180 grit is used for general purpose applications where the primary purpose is removal of mill finish leaving a more moderate reflective surface.  Due to the coarse nature of the polish, there is a greater  diffusion of incidental light.  The surface presents a distinct striation with defined polishing lines and grains.  Typically, Ra measurements run in the range of 60 – 80 micro inches.

CFF 240 Grit Finish

Polished finishes are produced by mechanically abrading the surface with a series of progressively finer abrasive belts.

CFF’s 240 grit is used for more ornamental or sanitary service applications where a smoother surface is desired and/ or aesthetics important. The less aggressive nature of the surface provides for improved corrosion resistance and enhanced cleanability.  The surface presents semi blended, longitudinal, striated  polishing lines with shorter grains.  Typically, Ra measurements run in the range of 15 – 20 micro inches.

Typically this finish is used in furniture manufacturing, architectural (i.e. handrails, grab bars, trim), pharmaceutical industry, marine applications to name just a few.

CFF 320 Grit Finish

Polished finishes are produced by mechanically abrading the surface with a series of progressively finer abrasive belts.

CFF’s 320 grit is used predominantly in the architectural industry where a very smooth surface is desired and aesthetics are critical. The surface presents a very fine finish without removing grit lines.  Due to the nature of the smooth surface, CFF 320 grit finish is highly reflective and provides improved corrosion resistance and enhanced cleanability.  Typically, Ra measurements run in the range of 9 – 11 micro inches.

Typically this finish is used for wall panels, architectural trims, column covers, ornamental purposes just to name a few.

CFF #6 Finish

Polished finishes are produced by mechanically abrading the surface with a series of progressively finer abrasive belts.

CFF’s #6 polish is designed and engineered to have shorter, blended surface grains with a reduced striated soft satin appearance. CFF’s #6 finish typically has Ra measurements in the range of 9 – 11 micro inches.  As a result of the low Ra and blended grain surface, CFF #6 finish lends itself to repair and blending in the field, superior matching characteristics, improved corrosion resistance, maximum cleaning efficiency and improved bacterial control.

Typically this finish is used in health services applications, architectural applications, trims, elevator cabs,  ornamental purposes just to name a few.

CFF Blend “S” Finish

Polished finishes are produced by mechanically abrading the surface with a series of progressively finer abrasive belts.

CFF’s Blend “S” finish was developed to provide a coarser surface with shorter, blended surface grains. The result is a desirable dull silver satin appearance with reduced striations. CFF’s Blend “S” finish typically has Ra measurements in the range of 20 – 35 micro inches.  As a result of the low Ra and blended grain surface, CFF #6 finish lends itself to repair and blending in the field, superior matching characteristics, improved corrosion resistance, maximum cleaning efficiency and improved bacterial control.
